U16 Mexican National Team which has two CBA members, Diego Willis and Toño Álvarez, finished its experience in the U16 FIBA Américas in the eighth position after losing to Venezuela in the last game on Sunday despite the fact that they had beaten that team in the first round (80-71).

In this encounter forward Toño Álvarez added 9 points and 9 rebounds whereas pointguard Diego Willis could not play because of a hit on the adductor in the game vs Brazil on Saturday in which Mexico got the victory (69-80) when Mexican playmaker shone with 10 points and 7 rebounds, as well as Álvarez who stood out with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

To sum up, Diego Willis averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 31 minutes in his four encounters, and Luis Antonio Álvarez accumulated 6.8 points, 7.2 rebounds in 24 minutes during his five games.

Finally, USA regained the U16 FIBA Américas in Bahía Blanca (Argentina) vs Canadá (77-60) and the host achieved the bronze medal vs Dominican Republic (74-59).
