Canarias Basketball Academy fell short on Friday morning 62-56 vs Partizan in the first Next Generation Tournament game in Belgrade which qualifies to the F4 that coincides with the Euroleague F4 in Madrid in May.
The beginning was very positive for the Grancanarian team as there was an 8 point advantage in the first quarter (9-17). In the second period, however, Partizan had a comeback and reached the halftime winning 31-24.
Sergio Salesa’s players reacted right after and soon tightened the score (43-42), but the misses from the free throw line (4/11) was crucial and the game came to an end with 62 a 56.
The best CBA scorer was Menno Dijkstra with 15 points and Souleymane Diakite, for his part, stood out in the rebounding aspect after grabbing 14 missed shots. Both of them exceeded 20 efficiency points.
U18 CBA is going to face Umana Reyer Venice at 9 pm (local time) tonight and tomorrow at 1 pm (l.t.) Zemun is going to be the last opponent of the first round.
