It was not the best day for CBA on the court. All the shots that were in the last days were not successful this Thursday at Pabellón Jorge Garbajosa in Torrejón de Ardoz. That is why Canarias Basketball Academy will not play the U18 Spanish Championships semifinals on the 2014/2015 and will try to fight from the 5th to the 8th place on Friday (in one game against a rival yet to be determined depending on the scores of the evening quarterfinals: Real Madrid – Gran Canaria and Baskonia – Joventut).

From the beginning of the game, CBA was not comfortable and a time out had to be called in minute 7 (11-16). Sevilla outrebounded the Academy since the first quarter (9 vs 14 and 39 vs 50 in the end) and managed the rhythm of the game to reach the halftime 26-37. Álvaro Reyes was the top scorer with 6 ranking points at that moment.

CBA did not perform well enough after the resumption and was 20 points down at minute 25 (32-53). Though defense was hard since then, in offense the Grancanarian team found too many difficulties to try to have a comeback (38-58, minute 35). In the end, 43-65 for the squad from Sevilla and bittersweet taste for CBA which will play on Friday either at 10:30 (in the game for the 7th place) or at 12:30 (in the game for the 5th place) at Pabellón Jorge Garbajosa. The rival and the time will depend on the scores on Thrusday evening.

In regards to the points, Álvaro Reyes made 9 points in 36 minutes, whereas Menno Dijkstra was the most efficient player with 12 ranking points (6 points and 9 rebounds).

These are the rest of the stats.
