The Domeny school of Girona received a very special visit this Tuesday. Yankuba Sima, a former player of the Canarias Basketball Academy and Spanish national team U20, and who currently plays at NCAA Division 1, Oklahoma State University, has come to this Catalan educational center to tell his sports experience to the students of 5th grade .
In this sense, Sima, who has been accompanied by his CBA mentor and scout, Gerard Damià Soria, explained how important was his year at the high performance center in Gran Canaria, since that year not only evolved a lot as player, but also earned him the opportunity to be called by the Spanish natiuonal team. Also worth noting that his brothers Ebrahim and Ousman are currently training at the Academy.
He also described how his life in a American college basketball is, how he combines studies with basketball and his future plans in the sport.
Domeny’s students, for their part, have not missed the opportunity to ask about everything they did not include in their exhibit, what their favorite player is, if they want to play in the NBA, what team or what number they like carry.
Finally, both Sima and Damià want to thank the treatment received by the faculty and students of the center.
