Former player of the Canaries Basketball Academy and current member of the prestigious University of Maryland team, Joshua Tomaic, has been summoned by the U19 Spanish National team, that will dispute the World Championship in Egypt from the 1st to the 9th of July.
The team will meet in Zaragoza on June 9th, where it will play four preparation games against Egypt (June 16-20), Germany (June 17) and Italy (June 18). He will then travel to France to participate in an international tournament, which will include: Lithuania (June 24), France (June 25) and Canada (June 26). He will then leave for Cairo, where he will make his debut against Japan on July 1st, and play as well against Canada (2 July) and Mali (4 July).
In addition to Tomaic, the coach Luis Guil has also summoned: Pol Figueras (FC Barcelona), Dani García (L’Hospitalet), Pol Molins (Joventut), Álvaro Sanz (B. Zaragoza), Aleix Font (FC Barcelona), Ignacio Ballespin (FC Fuenlabrada), Víctor Moreno (CB Fuenlabrada), Acoydan Mc Carthy (Real Madrid), Joan Ferrán Bernacer (B. Zaragoza), Maxim Esteban (FC Barcelona), Eric Vila (Texas A & M), Osas Eghiator (CB Fuenlabrada), Ignacio Rosa (Unicaja) and Bernat Vanaclocha (Students).
The rest of the coaching staff is composed of assistant coaches Salva Camps and Javier Zamora, physical trainer David Enciso, doctor Antonio García, physiotherapist Juan Carlos Palacio and team manager Manolo Castro. Also, the Spanish referee appointed for this event is Fernando Calatrava.
