Canarias Basketball Academy’s  Mexican international players Diego Willis and Toño Álvarez got their first win yesterday  in the U16 FIBA Américas that is being held in Bahía Blanca (Argentina).

After beating Venezuela 88-70, Mexico finishes the first round in the third position in Group B so their next match-up is going to be vs the 4th in Group A in the qualifying round.

From the tip-off the Mexican squad led the game (23-15 and 18-16), though it was in the third quarter (35-22) when the winner was decided for a powerful 88-70.

Willis added 13 points and 7 assists in 29 minutes whereas Toño Álvarez gained 8 points and 5 rebounds in 15 minutes.
