From the 11th to 14th May, Corralejo (Fuerteventura) will host the Canarian U14 Men’s Championship, in which the eight best teams of the islands will compete fot one of three available positions in the Spanish Championship; held in Galicia from 11 to 17 June.
CBA has been placed in Group ‘A’, along with Los Toscones, Aridane and Santo Domingo. The former two will face off on Thursday 19:00, and the other latter on Friday, at 11:00 and 18:00 respectively.
CBA coach Jorge Rodríguez says his team heads to this event “with great enthusiasm, but the intention is to go game by game”, adding: “It is very important to recognize the great work that players have done, not only during the season, but also in the island semifinals, in which we managed to beat Gran Canaria and qualify for this championship”.
However with regards to reaching the nationals level, Rodriguez is cautious: “We have hard teams and the level of competetion is very high; For that reason, the key is to go step by step and that it is the competition itself that puts us where we deserve”.
Finally, he hopes that “the players enjoy to the maximum this experience, because they have earned it through much work and effort”.
