6’9 Dutch forward Jordy Kuiper is on the news this week! After finishing his Sophomore season losing to Wofford in the Southern Conference Championship quarterfinals with UNCG and averaging 3.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 14.1 minutes, he was named the UNCG Defensive Player of the Year.


The UNCG men’s basketball team hosted its second annual year-end banquet Monday 16th of March. The Spartans recognized the 2014-15 season and celebrated its senior class at the event held at the Starmount Country Club. Then Associate head coach Mike Roberts presented sophomore forward Jordy Kuiper (Groningen, Netherlands/Canarias Basketball Academy) with the Defensive Player of the Year award. This marks the second straight year that Kuiper has earned the top defensive honor.
