Canarias Basketball Academy made a very positive impact in its third appearance in the prestigious Next Generation Euroleague Tournament in Belgrade which was held from the 27th of February to the 1st of March.
CBA finished with a record of 2-2 for the tournament and 5th overall which equaled their best ever placed finish in Kaunas back in 2012.

Head coach Sergio Salesa was very happy with a number of individuals that stood out in different statistical and personal categories. Firstly, Jordan Blount picked up two individual awards as he was named to the All Tournament Team and Best Rebounder. Statistically he finished second in efficiency with 20.8 and led the rebounding standings with 10.5 per game. He was also joined in the standings by 99 born forward Souleymane Diakite, who finished fifth overall averaging 7 boards per game.

97 born guard Jon Peña finished second in assists for the tournament averaging 6.8 assists per game. He was only surpassed by Vaerlose’s August Haas who dished 7 passes per game.

The playmaker from Bilbao´s best performance of the tournament came against Vaerlose where along with 11 assists, he also added 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds as CBA beat the Danish team to gain 5th place in the overall standings.

Finally, the Canarias Basketball Academy’s President, Rob Orellana wants to publically thank the fantastic treatment that CBA received over the 3 days of excellent competition.
