Canarias Basketball Academy’s senior team is going to travel to Teguise (Lanzarote) on Friday to play the F8 of the Canarian 2nd Senior Division.

The team coached by Antonio Gutiérrez goes to this competition like the Grancanarian champion after having completed a sensational F4 in which it was unbeaten as it firstly defeated Aldebarán (51-93) and then (60-51) and Salesianos Archi 8 (57-70).

CBA has been placed in Group A along with the second and the third from Tenerife, and the first from Fuerteventura. Its first encounter is going to be vs La Guancha, concretely on Friday at 3 pm. On Saturday it is going to play two games: the first one vs Amuley (at 10 am) and the second one vs Luther King (at 5 pm).

On Sunday, as always, the finals standings will be decided: the fight for the 5th place at 9 am, for the 3rd place at 11 am and the Finals at 1 pm.

CBA’ coach hopes that his team continues “with the same level and attitude in Lanzarote, where we aspire to the best” and stands out that “this is going to be a good experience and opportunity for the U17 players who have performed really well in their Spanish Championships”.

With regards to the rivals, Gutiérrez assures that “the references I have about them are very good since in the cases of Amuley and La Guancha, we are going to face very hard and experienced teams, unlike Luther King, which is younger, almost fully U22, and therefore it prefers a high rhythm in the game”. “Consequently, they will be tight games”, he foresees.
