Beginning at the base: CBA School

Canarias Basketball Academy School (CBA School) is born alter the consolidation of the CBA, program that began in 2007 with the goal of becoming a High Performance Center that helps basketball players improve. Our main aim is the training of players both in sports and in studies from the cadet age.

Our CBA School goes after the same CBA aims from the beginning, but now with a focus on boys and girls that take the studies of Under 6, Under 12 and Under 14 in the Canary Islands. The out of school basketball activities in these schools are going to determine the main CBA activity, being the AMPA (Pupils’ parents association) and the board of directors of Under 6 and Under 12 the most important guardians of the Canarias Basketball Academy School after relying on the program.

The project of CBA School will centre its goals on offering quality with our genuine basketball training in schools, taking into consideration the times we are living and the adaptation to the Spanish educational system. That is why our practices will be in English with a translation in Spanish when necessary, enabling boys and girls to an initiation, improvement and perfection in the English language.

The activity of CBA School does not end here, since from our basketball managers we propose certain actions in collaboration with schools that we list now:

  • Support and collaboration with the teachers of physical education.
  • Visits, talks and displays by our CBA players.
  • Organization of our intern league.
  •  Organization of the CBA School League among all schools that the academy coordinates.
  • Living together with other schools.
  • Basketball camps.

Any project start-up brings surrounding oneself with great experienced coaches that know how to teach young kids of school age. Jorge López, canarian, and basketball manager in several clubs in the island of Gran Canaria and with broad experience in the coordination of out of school activities in lots of schools will be our basketball manager.
