Since the Canarias Basketball Academy began its activity in 2007, the international high performance center, specializing in basketball, has been distinguished by its peculiar method of work, in which concepts of sacrifice, effort and dedication acquire their maximum dimension. All very well measured so each individual can improve their game at all levels.

In this regard, the Department of Communication and Marketing of CBA has designed an audiovisual piece in short film format, which conveys the essence of this “one of a kind in the world” project, through the story of its younger residents: Dai Hao, a Chinese point guard born in 2002 (13 years) who has  just completed his second season at the Academy, but has already been called by spanish powerhouse Real Madrid to play four friendly matches, and been selected to the Canary Islands team,  for the U14 Spainish championships.

The short film, lasting 1’47”, was produced in English, but has optional subtitles in 15 languages: English, Castilian, Catalan, Basque, Galician, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Romanian, Swedish, Serbian, Georgian, Russian and Latvian, considering the international nature of the CBA and the most common languages at his residence.

On the other hand, the title is chosen because of the affectionate nickname of the player, who narrates in first person how his life as a high performance athlete, despite his young age. However, it makes it clear his effort is worthwhile, dedicated to his passion: basketball.

Finally, this short film, starring Dai Hao and with the voice of Wang Xiaoyi, is the brainchild of journalist Ana Rosas, with Chris Almeida filmed, as the man in charge of developing the piece. Also, journalist and basketball coach, Carlos Velasco, was the architect of the English adaptation of the script and production.
