A bad beginning for the grancanarian team in Pontevedra condemmed it to go behind during the second Adecco Plata game, losing 67-56. As a very positive aspect, pointguard Jon Peña made his debut in Liga Adecco Plata playing 20 minutes.
At Pabellón de A Raña the opponent started with Izquierdo, Azotam, Medori, Blair and Ferreiro whereas Martín, Ward, Guerra, Tyrna y Geramipoor were the first five in Pepe Carrión’s team.
Marín Peixegalego faced the second game with a previous loss vs Sammic ISB (83-76), what meant much concentration and intensity in the locals and CBA accumulated many turnovers, circumstance that did not allow to attack the Galician rim easily. Consequently, that 14-2 in the beginning was crutial for the rest of the game.
On the other hand, Marín centers punished the visiting team, in spite of losing the centimetres battle. In this way, at halftime CBA Gran Canaria lost 32-25.
The script did not change after the break, though CBA Gran Canaria was more focused and could get closer to Marín 5 minutes before the end. Finally, 67-56.
Tom Ward individually stood out with 23 points and 18 ranking points. Roberto Guerra also did a good job with 9 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 15 ranking points. In the local team, Ike Azotam added 28 ranking points as he had 19 points and 13 rebounds.
