CBA Gran Canaria has to travel to Vitoria to start the second half of the season in Liga Adecco Plata, where this Saturday at 5 pm (insular time) it is going to face Sáenz Horeca Araberri at Polideportivo Mendizorroza.
The Basque team is the last one in the standings with only two wins (2-12); the first one was at Centro Insular de Deportes in the first game of this season. Then Pepe Carrión’s fell short of a win (47-53) on a day in which former CBA player Aaron Geramipoor got 15 ranking points: 11 points and 12 rebounds. Precisely, the English center left Canarias Basketball Academy to sign with Adecco Oro leader: Club Ourense Baloncesto.
CBA Gran Canaria’s coach stands out that his rival “is a team that needs good results inmediately since its place in the standings nowadays may lead them to relegate”, and specifies that “Araberri likes to maintain a high rhythm during the game and is cold-blooded in the crucial moments. If we had to underline a player, we should talk about center Evan Yates, one of the most valued players in the league”.
In the last game, Sáenz Horeca Araberri lost to Marín Peixegalego at home (58-78), as locals Tadas Sedekerskis and Carlos Martínez shone with 13 and 12 ranking points, respectively. CBA Gran Canaria, for its part, could not beat Viten Getafe on the road (61-56) and Norbert Janicek added 16 ranking points with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Finally, Asier Quintas and David Sánchez will be the officials from the 16th game in Liga Adecco Plata.
