First canarian championship for CBA during this 2013-2014!

Our First National senior players got a 3-0 during the F4 that was organized in the Universidad de Las Palmas Sports Hall from the 4th to the 6th of April!

On Friday the first game against Náutico turned out to be very tied after a 20 points lead. In the end, CBA won 67-58 with 14 points and 13 rebounds by Vladimir Brodziansky and 15 points and 13 rebounds by Jan Svandrlik.

On Saturday there was almost a matchpoint: a win vs Aridane was going to mean the championship if Náutico beat La Matanza two hours later. That is why our players began really focused and had 13 points lead at halftime (25-38). The advantage was increased in the second half with a great defense (58-81). In that game Simon Krajcovic had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for 25 ranking points and Vladimir got 24 points, 9 rebounds and 31 ranking points.

Because of those two wins, and after watching La Matanza’s victory over Náutico, in that last game CBA could even defend 12 points to become the champion. Nevertheless, our players did not understand the word ‘defeat’ and had a great performance vs La Matanza (72-59) with 23 points and 4 rebounds by Jan Svandrlik, 12 points and 17 rebounds by Vladimir and 11 points and 12 rebounds by Kingsely Obiekwe.

Congratulations, CBA!

Despite the fact that our Academy has finished first both in the regular season and the F4, to qualify for the superior league, EBA, CBA will have to play another F4 in the region of Madrid from the 30th of May to the 1st of June against the first two teams of the same category in Madrid and the best one in Castilla – La Mancha. In that F4, there will be two tickets for EBA.

Let’s keep on working, CBA!
