Canarias Basketball Academy equalled its best classification in the prestigious Next Generation Tournament in Belgrado after beating Danish Vaerlose BBK (67-73) and gain the fifth place in its third participation.

From the start, CBA clearly showed that its concentrarion was fantastic and a good evidence was the 12-20 run in the first quarter that was characterized by a balanced game, hard defence and good open shots. This attitude continued in the second period specially in the defense terms which provided CBA 10 points of advantage at halftime. ( 24-34).

After the break, the same story. CBA controlled every game facet and in minute 30 the Grancanarian team led the score: 36-49.

The Danish reaction happened in the last quarter (31-24) and the Academy saw that the favourable score was in jeopardy. Finally, it was only a scare and Vaerlose only decrease a little bit its distance: 67-73.

The most valuable CBA player was pointguard Jon Peña who added 16 points and 11 assists for 27 ranking points. Moreover, four Salesa’s pupils exceeded 10 points: Luka Bulashivili, 13; and Yixiong Wang, Jordan Blount and Menno Dijkstra with 12.
