The presidents of CBA (Canarias Basketball Academy) and SBT (Club Deportivo San Bartolomé de Tirajana), Rob Orellana and Omar Peñate, have signed today a cooperation agreement by which the club based in San Bartolome de Tirajana, a municipality internationally recognized for its excellence in tourism, will now be named CBA Maspalomas.

In addition to the renaming of the club, the alliance means taking over the sports management of CBA Maspalomas and the expansion of its basketball schools in the area.

In this regard, both leaders have been very satisfied with this agreement because  “SBT has always done a great job with the development of its young players, so now with our CBA method of training, hopefully we will increase their potential”, said Rob Orellana, in line with Omar Peñate: “This will not only mean that basketball will continue to grow in Maspalomas, but also the jump in quality that now we will be able to offer our kid”.

Moreover, the Canarias Basketball Academy, the most prestigious international high performance center in Europe, assigned the coordination of CBA Maspalomas to Jorge Lopez, who will be well supported by its chief operating officer, Samuel Sosa.
