Living the NCAA experience is quite attractive nowadays for basketball players who are in the final stages of training. However, the chance to combine university studies with a high level competition is the main concern that the youth Spanish players handle.
The Canarias Basketball Academy is the perfect bridge to being able to reach the “American dream” because it prepares the players physically and technically. It also serves as a showcase for the NCAA universe. However, the Academy is visited almost every week for different types of competition, and organizes different tours during the season to strengthen this exposure.
At this moment, 9 of the 24 of the Spanish players at the NCAA between first and second division, are from the CBA. Evidence that the Academy succeeds with transcending player between Spanish basketball and the American universities.
Yankuba Sima, Joan Ander Cuadra and Adrián Carrión are three ex-Spanish CBA players in first division at NCAA, while Jacobo Díaz, Pol Oliver, Carlos Marrero, Carlos García, Luis Becerra and Rafael Casanova play in second division.
